Pashmina is the name of the VERY BEST cashmere in the world.

The value of Pashmina lies in the fact that it is the finest, warmest, softest and lightest of the cashmeres. Accessories made from Pashmina are convenient because of their great warmth and compact size when folded.

PASHMINA can only come from Capra Hircus goats raised in the Himalayan mountain region. Unlike cashmere-producing goats in other regions of the world, these hardy Himalayan goats live in the world's highest mountain range at altitudes of up to 14,000 feet, where winters are extremely rises above minus 30 degrees Farenheit in winter. Their undergrowth of very fine hair (less than 1/6 the width of a human hair) insulates them from the harsh weather. One goat produces only 80-100 grams of this ultrafine hair each year. The annual growth of three goats is needed to make a single scarf. PASHMINA is the goat's soft underbelly down, which lies under the coarse outer hair. The goats shed each spring and the Pashmina fibers are collected either from the rocks and bushes or is brushed from the underbelly. NO HARM COMES TO THE GOATS IN THE COLLECTION OF THE PASHMINA WOOL. The fibers are then sorted, cleaned and spun into Pashmina yarn. It is then woven by master weavers and then individually dyed and dried. Practically any color imaginable can be achieved.

The ultimate indulgence is a 100% Pure Pashmina garment. But the most popular form of Pashmina is called PASHMINA SILK. It is a blend of approximately 70% Pashmina and 30% Silk. Fashionable customers prefer this blend because silk adds strength and shine to the garment.

These remarkable wraps are on catwalks around the world. Playful and provocative, pashminas can be worn everywhere and with anything. These sexy yet seriously cozy wraps have emerged as a new staple for every woman’s wardrobe – as a sensuous drape that adds a dash of drama to an urban evening or a cuddly accompaniment to a Sunday morning brunch.
